"I fell in love with belly's and babies as a young girl going to births with my mother who was a midwife practicing in Everett, WA. However, my passion for birth began during my first pregnancy at 18 years old. I realized there was this huge community of women supporting each other through some of the toughest moments of life and I wanted to be part of it.
A year after my first son was born I found myself single and ready to see the world. We packed up and moved to St. Lucia in the Caribbean to experience something completely new and different. My mother had retired a few years prior and moved to St. Lucia so we lived with her on the island for about a year. When we returned I met my husband and started a life with him. We welcomed our second son in 2014. I had a midwife with both of my kids, planned home births, and ended up in the hospital each time with different complications.
My journey to become a student midwife began shortly after my second son was born. I was accepted into the Midwives College of Utah bachelor program this year and began classes in September. I also work as a certified phlebotomist at The Everett Clinic. Meeting Tiffany and Cindi was a sweet surprise the universe had planned all along. Linked through a mutual friend, Tiffany and I met on Facebook. Come to find out, she was partners with a woman I had known from a very young age. Cindi and my mother go way back in the midwifery world and here we are full circle working together to care for women and babies decades later.
I look forward to meeting each and every one of you and thank you for allowing me to learn from your important birthing journey."
