I am a wife and mother of 6 children ages 18, 14, 13, 12, 7, and 3. My family lives in Bothell with our Goldendoodle Marvin, and beloved Persian cat Maddie. (It’s always a party at the Wilson’s!) We enjoy playing games together, camping, hiking, and movie nights.
From the beginning of my first pregnancy in 1999 I had a profound curiosity about pregnancy, labor, and birth. I was an adolescent mom with a thirst for information. The birth of my first daughter was everything I had hoped for, and it ignited my passion for birth. The birth of my second daughter was much like the first; an empowering and unique event of its own. My pregnancy with my third daughter in 2009, opened my eyes to ALL of the available choices in our local area. I had visited a friend in New Orleans who told me that she was seeing a Midwife for her pregnancy. I’ll admit… when I heard the word “midwife” all that came to my mind was a backyard farm birth. However, once I discovered that I was pregnant, I searched midwives in my area. I was amazed in the new options and locations I had to give birth! I chose to have my third daughter at a free standing birth center. Shortly following the birth of my third daughter I became a volunteer childbirth educator for The Pregnancy Resource Center in Everett. I took Birth Doula training at the Seattle Midwifery School, and attended my first birth during my training. I have been serving our community as a birth doula for over 7 years at Puget Sound Doulas.
In 2014 I gave birth in the comfort of my own home. This pregnancy was challenging, and put me in the position to exercise informed choice and weigh out risks. This experience was empowering, unique, and lit my fire to pursue midwifery. I learned through this process what it meant to have CHOICES, which reinforced my dedication to making sure every family I work with is always aware of their choices.
I am a recent midwifery school graduate, currently waiting to sit for my national and state boards. For the past 3 years I have had the honor of working alongside a phenomenal Seattle midwife, Cindi Thompson, who has given me me the opportunity to learn and serve families just like yours through pregnancy and birth. Choosing to work with Cindi as a midwifery partner, was a no brainer for me. Cindi is one of my closest, dearest friends. I trust her, and she inspires me.
As of 2017 I have attended 400 births. I attend home, free standing birth center, and hospital births. I have supported birth in all of the King/Snohomish County hospitals and free standing birth centers as a birth doula.
Let's get together in a free Meet 'n Greet and see if we'd make a winning team. I can't wait to meet you, and hear all about your hopes & dreams for birth.
For other mothers who need the warm embrace of someone who genuinely cares, who need assistance when they otherwise feel alone and lost, who need that extra level of empowerment, nurturing and attention when they are otherwise in pain and unsure of themselves; Tiffany was built to do this important work.
