What  former clients have to say about Let it Be Birth:

"When I was searching for a Doula, I wasn’t entirely sure what I was looking for since this was my first pregnancy. I met with 2 doulas before I met Kate, and while they were very nice and obviously skilled, the fit wasn’t just right. Then Kate showed up on my doorstep. Immediately, she made me feel like we had been friends our whole lives. She was very easy to talk to, and I felt very comfortable sharing this vulnerable yet amazing part of my life with her. It was important to me to choose a doula that I would have no reservations about having in my labor and delivery room. She is not only very professional and very good at what she does, but she is also extremely caring, compassionate, comforting and encouraging. I completely trusted her judgment, and she trusted me to know my body so that I could express my needs and have them met. I had a very long and challenging labor, completely with very painful back labor. Kate’s suggestions for position changes and pain-relief measures were very effective and helped me progress well. I firmly believe I would have ended up with a c-section if it weren’t for her support. It is obvious that Kate knows her stuff, and she loves what she does. Kate was (and is) the one. I would choose her again in a heartbeat for future pregnancy(ies)."

"We were thrilled with KC! She was a great match for our personalities, and my wife really appreciated her skills as a massage therapist. KC was thorough and caring, and really helped us understand more about what to expect during the birth. When my wife’s water broke two weeks early, KC was supportive and readily available to come to the hospital. As a husband and father, it eased my anxiety to see KC comforting my wife as she labored. The staff at Group Health was also very complimentary of KC’s work and enjoyed having her participate in the birth.

Thank you KC!"

"Kate taught my birth class. I was amazed at her wealth of knowledge, and her easy going personality was exactly what my husband and I needed as we nervously anticipated our first child.
Kate's experience with many different birth scenarios allows her to be comfortable talking to women with any birth plan with care and understanding. I watched her reach out to every future mother in our class, from women who were high risk and planned on c-sections, to women who wanted birth center or home births with minimal intervention. She spoke to them all with respect, and from her wealth of knowledge was able to connect and give them all the information they were looking for.
I have kept in contact with Kate since leaving her class over 2 years ago, and have loved having her brain to pick whenever I had a birth or breastfeeding related question. I would recommend, without hesistation, Kate as a doula or birth instructor to anyone who asked. In my opinion, she is one of the best doulas I've ever come across, she truly was made for this job."

"KC was an invaluable member of our birth team. We weren’t sure we wanted to hire a doula, and we are SO thankful that we did!  KC was by our sides and offered her whole self every step of the way – through and beyond each of the challenges we were presented with. She was the strength we needed when we had trouble finding our own. She is truly an angel and her big heart and love for all things babies and birth shine through in every interaction. We have so much love and appreciation for everything KC did for us and can’t imagine our birthing experience without her!" – Alyssa & Cameron

The quality of care Seattle Midwives provided through our pregnancy and birth was above and beyond what we expected. We originally were using hospital midwives and decided during our 8th month to switch to a homebirth after touring the hospital delivery rooms and realizing it was not what we wanted.
The contrast in the care we received (hospital vs. Seattle Midwives) was like night and day. The midwives were very knowledgeable and caring, providing us with all the support and guidance that we needed as a couple and for the little person growing inside.
When the day of our birth came they were a calm and strong team, creating the space to labor safely with gentle advice and suggestions at the right times, as well as allowing me to labor in my own way. We couldn't be happier with our care. -EM
