Hello! I'm Kate Richmond. I am nationally certified by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and credentialed by the State of Washington as a Licensed Midwife (LM). I received my formal education through Birthwise Midwifery School, a MEAC accredited school in rural Maine. During my education I had the honor of attending births in Maine, New Hampshire, Washington and California. After years of schooling and attending births all over the US, I returned home to open my own practice, Huckleberry Homebirth Midwifery, where I provided maternity care to Seattle-area families.
In early 2018 I joined Tiffany at Seattle Midwives as a partner.
My partner and I welcomed our first son in 2019, you'll likely meet him in my arms at clinic appointments! I will be back to Midwifery part-time and attending births in July.
I have had a passion for reproductive health since youth. I believe that childbearing is a natural, normal part of life that should be celebrated and empowered. I am honored to be there to support and guide families through this exciting time in their lives.
When I'm not catching babies, I can be found spending time with my family, fermenting and baking at home, playing at the local arcades, or exploring the beautiful northwest forests and beaches.
